The Not-for-Profit committee consists of volunteers from both the New York State Society of CPA’s and members in the Not-for-Profit community. We have partnered with the Center for Community Engagement at St. John Fisher College to provide a series of workshops to education board members in small to mid-size Not-for-Profit entities. Our group meets on an occasional basis to discuss different events we can provide to the Not-for-Profit community. Our goal is to develop an annual series of workshops which will provide education in areas such as understanding financial statements, internal controls, IRS form 990 and the role of the board with regard to the audit process.
